At 3am on Day 5 of The 100 Mile Challenge, the move towards Bognor Regis started.

He ran in 1 mile sections from his base in Northgate Car Park and crossed the finish line at West Park at 9.09am, 100 hours after he started. His loyal band of followers were there to see his fantastic feat of grit, determination and stamina. With only the Bognor 10k road race to go he had almost finished.

Gareth ran the 10k with his mother, Isobel and lifelong friends Tom and Sally, all of whom had run miles with him in Chichester. Whilst he wasn't running for a time they completed the 10k in just less than 1 hour and 1 minute and to be honest Gareth was still fresh enough to have run a quicker time but wanted to stay with his team who were all raising money for him.
The 100 Mile Challenge has ended. Gareth showed the same amount of effort and determination that he showed during his awful illness, If he didn't have these qualities he would never have made it out of hospital. The work of the doctors and nurses continues all day every day. The blood donors continue to give blood on a regular basis. We can easily forget what a difference these people make.
The challenge may have ended but their work carries on and we hope that you will continue to support them in whatever way you can.
Thanks for your support
